About Us

Loving God. Loving Truth. Loving Others.

Who We Are

Hello, and welcome to Christ Agape – a space where faith meets the real world. I’m Bunmi Ozoya, a husband, father of one, and an accountant who has learned that numbers make sense, but only God’s love (agape) makes life make sense.
I was born and raised in Lagos, spent five years in the United Kingdom for work and study, and then felt God calling me back home to Nigeria. Today, I live in Ibadan with my wife, Tolu, and our son, Temi. By day I work with numbers; by night and weekends I study Scripture, follow the news, and write to help Christians like you see current events through a biblical lens.

My Testimony

Bunmi Ozoya

I grew up in a Christian home, but my faith was more tradition than treasure. In my early twenties, I was chasing professional success – first in Lagos, then in London. I thought if I could get the right job, the right flat, the right savings, I would be satisfied.

But in the UK, far from family and familiar churches, I felt empty. I had money in the bank but no peace. One night in my flat in Manchester, I opened a Bible my mum had packed in my luggage years before. I read Matthew 11:28 – “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” That night, I stopped running. I surrendered my career ambitions, my pride, and my plans to Jesus.
After that, everything changed – not my circumstances, but my heart. I met Tolu at a Nigerian Christian fellowship in London. We married, had Temi, and then prayed about returning to Nigeria. In 2020, we moved back. Now I work as an accountant for a Christian non-profit while running this blog.

Our Mission

The mission of Christ Agape is simple but urgent:
To help Nigerian and global Christians apply biblical truth to breaking news, cultural shifts, and daily decisions – without fear, hype, or compromising the gospel.
We focus on three types of content:
1. Faith-Building Devotionals – Short, practical studies you can read in 5-10 minutes, often drawing from Nigerian and African contexts.
2. Biblically-Framed News – What’s happening in Nigeria and the world? We examine headlines through Scripture, not political spin.
3. Christian Living for Real Life – Topics like money management (I am an accountant after all), marriage, parenting, persecution prayers, and integrity at work.

What We Believe

-The Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant Word – our final authority.
-Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
-God’s agape love is unconditional, sacrificial, and available to every person – Nigerian, British, or any nation.
-We are called to speak the truth in love, even when that truth is uncomfortable for our culture or government.
-For a full statement of faith, please see our Statement of Faith page.

Why “Christ Agape”?

Agape is the Greek word for God’s selfless, unwavering love. In a world of sensational headlines, tribal politics, and prosperity gospel hype, we believe Christians – especially in Nigeria – need a return to simple, biblical truth wrapped in genuine love.
